While the time had finally come to conquer the Earth itself, Arctic knew that he was going to need to do this in rather small steps. He needed to go one location at a time and before he got to the important locations of Earth, the first step of his plan was to establish a place where he can make a landing area and a base for his troops. He wanted this area to have everything his soldiers would need and this came down to housing, a mess hall and all of the other necessities that came with supporting soldiers on a different planet. The plan was simple, with capsule style housing and structures the base would be up in no time. The first step was simply selecting the land and landing his own ship their to claim it as his own.
From the Atmosphere of the Earth Arctic's ship had scanned the Earth and it came to the conclusion that the population towards the Northern areas was rather limited and made for the best choice. The less people that were there the less issues that could potentially arise. While Arctic had no issues killing off the people of Earth, he wanted to do it in a controlled manner with reasoning behind it. He knew that he wanted to convert them into his own work force, he wanted to drain the Earth of it's resources in order to funnel them to Frost and to do that he required numbers but he knew that he needed to make an example as well. Fear was a very powerful tool, a tool that he had no issue using against these Earthlings.
While Arctic had been near Earth for a few weeks he was awaiting the arrival of his entire fleet, he wanted to make an impression on his first landing. He wanted the Earth to know exactly what they were up against. He had assumed they had the most basic of technology that allowed them to track when a ship was entering their atmosphere and for them to track many ships surely would've began to send the terror through their hearts. It was a tool that he would manipulate and use every moment he could for not only did he want to be respected, but he wanted to be feared. He had removed Namek from the universe and then Vegeta. He wanted all to know his name, he wanted all to know what exactly he was capable of.
"Land is in the north, in that frozen region with a lack of population. It seems like a very fitting place to begin my conquest of this planet."
With his orders his ship would descend down towards the Earth, slowly breaking the clouds as it closed the distance from the Earth's icy surface. It wasn't long before the four main landing gears extended and touched down on the ice rather gently and right after that dozens of other ships had began to break through the clouds and aim for Earth's surface. One by one they would touch down near Arctic's ship as his army started to deploy around the area.
The boarding ramp of Arctic's ship had opened and extended down to the ice and he would slowly begin to walk down it. His hands crossed behind his back and his feet eventually touched the snow. Of course, he had a handful of soldiers following him down the ramp as they all scanned the area. "Begin setting up the camp. I want to see it up and running in less than an hour."
His orders were simple and while he truly had nothing but time, he wanted his camp established as soon as possible. He wanted all of his soldiers prepared for what was to come. He expected that the Earth's government might send some troops to try and handle the situation. If that was the case, he wanted the base prepared and ready so his troops would be easily deploy-able to meet them. While Arctic wanted to be involved, he wanted to save his enjoyment for more worthy enemies. He wasn't going to get his hands dirty for a pathetic attempt by Earth forces to stop him but a warrior of significant power? That was something he would fight.
For now, unless anybody was going to come to stop him. He was going to wait and watch as his soldiers set up the camp. While there was a small chance that somebody would arrive to stop this area from being claimed by him, he doubted it but was ready for it. Surely nobody would be foolish enough to come and face him alone, would they? Either way, Arctic would be on Earth for a while and sooner or later the warriors of Earth would find the fight coming to them.

Liari snapped to attention as that force, that... POWER that had been hovering around Earth had finally touched down. She hadn't expected it to come so soon... After all, it had not indicated a desire to move ever since it had appeared at the edges of her senses! What had changed? ...In her previous form, she would have been terrified, quivering as the overwhelming MIGHT of this mysterious entity drew closer and closer... But now...? All she felt was... was anger. Anger... and HUNGER. This was going to happen eventually, the Majin decided, flying off in the direction of the stranger's signature. There was no way that THING was going to just... leave after hovering around near orbit for as long as it had. It was time... for action.
Fading away into cubes, the Majin would manifest somewhere in the arctic north, where the land was sparse, and ice was plentiful. ...And signatures... SO MANY SIGNATURES! Liari blinked, surprised at how much life she was detecting up here! She had thought, until now, that the MASSIVE POWER she was sensing belonged to just one man, but no... that was seemingly not the case! She was sensing dozens of individual powers buzzing around near an icy cliff, like little arctic ants zipping from one place to the next. ...But there was one... OH, there was one that stood above the rest... He wasn't exactly impressive right now, maybe for someone of the weaker fighters like Pran, but there was no doubt in her mind he could gut every single human on this planet in a second if he got it into his head to do so. Liari narrowed her eyes... and sighed. She could feel it in his ki: This guy's power was familiar... Icy, cold... It reminded her of Zero and Ryme, so calm and composed in their maliciousness.
...She had no idea if this thing's goals were the same if he was here to take over this planet... LIARI'S planet like they were but... she couldn't let it go for a second longer. At this point, it was a matter of threat. He was brazen enough to bring what amounted to a small army to help construct and fortify something (at least according to what she was hearing and sensing), and didn't at all seem concerned regarding potential backlash! He was confident... he was dangerous... And Liari wondered if part of the reason he was here... was because of her. Liari thought back to that one moment of impulsiveness she had felt when she'd gone to Frost for the first time. She had gone with a mission: to learn from the mysterious Lord Pola... only to be greeted with a platoon of soldiers. She had killed them all... and wasted their kingdom for her trouble in a fit of anger. In the moment it felt GOOD! She felt STRONG! Now...? ...Now she couldn't help but wonder if this whole thing could've been avoided if she had merely restrained herself just once.
"Bah. It doesn't matter." Liari huffed, fading away into cubes once more. In the next instant, the Majin would re-manifest right in the center of the base being constructed, seemingly materializing from flickering cubes out of just about nowhere! The Majin ignored the soldiers, whether they recoiled or raised their weapons in response. Her eyes were focused on just one man: The Changeling walking down the ramp of his ship. One look at him and Liari was convinced that HE was what Ryme and Zero FOUGHT to be. He had the confidence, the swagger, but he also had the POWER to command. He looked like the sort that believed with every cell in his body that it was his RIGHT to stand above others, to shuffle them about like chess pieces. His coloration was dark and his smile was sharp, his eyes like focused, red pin-pricks that could pierce the soul of any man they fell upon. Liari said nothing for a moment, merely letting her sudden appearance set in for the new arrivals, her energy, right now FLOODING OVER THEM in a seemingly boundless wave! She locked eyes with the Changeling, adjusted her cape, then approached, meeting the man just before the base of his ship's ramp.
"You're new." Liari stated softly, her raspy voice coming out like a smoke-inhalation victim's. "Looks like you're making a little base here. Planning on sticking around?" She would make a point of looking around at the work already going on, her eyes narrowing at some that had dared to attempt eye-contact with her! She would then look back to the stranger and shrug, as if not disturbed in the least by his "invasion."
"The warriors of this planet have already taken note of your power... I wouldn't be surprised if you faced... resistance in the next handful of days."

The freezing winds of the Glacier Wastelands carried with them an energy that seemed out of place. The air shimmered for an instant, and suddenly, a new presence materialized at the edge of the base. Callion, the Saiyan warrior, stood with a confident aura, his sharp gaze fixed on the scene unfolding before him.
Callion emerged from the Instant Transmission with practiced silence, his boots lightly touching the icy ground. He observed the unfolding scene with a keen, analytical gaze. The frigid air bit at him, but he paid no mind to the cold as he took in the dynamics of the situation. His arrival went unnoticed by the soldiers working on the construction, as their attention was drawn to the unexpected appearance of Liari. Callion took a moment to assess the situation, noting the distinct power dynamics at play. His eyes locked onto Arctic, the Changeling, who seemed unfazed by Liari's sudden intrusion.
As Liari and Arctic exchanged words, Callion approached, his Saiyan gi glistening in the icy atmosphere. His posture was composed, and his expression carried a mix of curiosity and readiness for action. The power he exuded, though currently restrained, hinted at the formidable strength that lay within. From his vantage point, hidden in the shadows, Callion studied the powerful figures before him. Liari's sudden appearance had disrupted the construction efforts, and Arctic, the Changeling, stood at the center of attention. The Saiyan's sharp eyes flickered between the two, calculating their power levels and assessing the potential threat they posed.
The Majin's aura was chaotic and unpredictable, a stark contrast to the controlled and composed energy emanating from Arctic. Callion could sense the tension building in the air, the clash of conflicting intentions. His Saiyan instincts told him that this situation could escalate quickly. Without uttering a word, Callion continued to observe, his arms crossed. His eyes, however, spoke volumes—focused, alert, and ready to act if the need arose. The silence around him was filled with the anticipation of impending conflict, and the Glacier Wastelands seemed to hold its breath as Earth's destiny hung in the balance.
Callion's eyes swept across the Glacier Wastelands, taking in every detail with a meticulous focus. The vast, frozen expanse stretched out before him, a desolate landscape of ice and snow. The bitter chill in the air seemed to amplify the tension of the moment. His gaze shifted from the immediate scene of the base construction to the wider surroundings. The icy cliffs and frozen plains formed a harsh backdrop, seemingly indifferent to the unfolding drama. Callion noted the sparse vegetation struggling to survive in the harsh conditions, a stark contrast to the powerful energies clashing in the vicinity.
In the distance, he spotted the outlines of jagged mountains, their peaks obscured by mist and snow. The silence of the Glacier Wastelands was broken only by the occasional howl of the frigid wind, carrying with it the promise of a brewing storm.
As his eyes continued their reconnaissance, Callion analysed potential strategic points and weaknesses in the landscape. The icy terrain could prove both an ally and a foe in any confrontation. The crunch of snow beneath his boots barely registered as he moved silently, keeping a watchful eye on every detail. Callion's senses expanded, reaching out to detect any other life forms in the vicinity. He wanted to be fully aware of the battlefield, attuned to any potential allies or adversaries that might emerge from the shadows of the Glacier Wastelands.
For now, he remained a silent observer, allowing the unfolding events to dictate his next move. The Glacier Wastelands held secrets beneath their icy veneer, and Callion was ready to navigate them with the precision of a warrior attuned to the ebb and flow of battle. Callion, having completed his silent survey of the surroundings, began to move with measured steps. The crunch of the snow beneath his boots was deliberate, signalling his approach without any unnecessary noise. His eyes remained focused on Arctic, the Changeling who stood at the center of the unfolding confrontation.
As he neared the base, Callion gave Liari a nod of acknowledgment. It was a silent communication, an understanding that they were both here for a common purpose – to defend Earth. His arms remained folded, the Saiyan's posture exuding a calm yet alert readiness. His gaze shifted to Arctic, studying the alien with a discerning eye. Callion took in the details – the confident posture, the piercing red eyes, the aura of power that surrounded him. The Saiyan's keen instincts assessed the threat level, and he couldn't afford to underestimate the Changeling.
Without uttering a word, Callion continued to observe Arctic. His silence spoke volumes, a deliberate choice to gauge the intentions and capabilities of this new adversary. The icy wind swept through the Glacier Wastelands, carrying with it a sense of anticipation. The Saiyan warrior's focus was unwavering, his mind calculating potential strategies and considering the best course of action. As the tension in the air thickened, Callion stood poised and vigilant, a guardian ready to defend Earth against the encroaching threat.

Post by Liek on Jan 24, 2024 0:51:22 GMT -5
The boy leaned forward on his throne on board the bridge of the Gau-la-Furia, his blue eyes watching the monitors around the walls of the command centre of the great vessel. Of the slightly over twenty thousand souls on board the vessel only two where currently on the bridge monitoring the situation as it unfolded. The boy had reached out to various settlements and cities across the Earth with offers to take in any who wished to seek shelter against the coming threat of Arctic. The number of humans to accept was disheartening, a mere three thousand, mostly those disillusioned with life on Earth or space enthusiasts.
It was… less then ideal. As such Liek had decided to hide the Gau-la-Furia in the ocean, near where he’d originally found it, rather then taking it into space. For the time being keeping it on Earth was actually the safer option as, while the ship was armed, it was in no condition to be engaging in battle.
But, if it came to that, once Arctic’s forces had finished landing the Furia would launch and make for the dark side of the Moon and use a Saiyan pod as a relay to monitor things on Earth. If the forces of Earth defeated Arctic and his army, or at least sent them fleeing, the Furia would return. If they failed the Furia would use the old Fury survey data to find a planet suitable for the refugees aboard to make a home of.
Right now though, Liek’s attention was on what was displayed on the monitors. Namely a satellite view of the landing site where he could see the ships landing and the soldiers scurrying around. He felt Liari’s power shift locations and watched her figure materialise at the encampment. It was clear things where going to go down, one way or another. And then he sensed Callion’s warping, and his satellite view allowed him to find him on the outskirts and watched the older Saiyan’s approach.
“So… it’s starting?” Cauri, the only other occupant of the bridge asked. The little Saiyan, not even a teenager, looked nervous. He’d been training her since she and the other Saiyan refugees came onboard, but she was still far too weak to be able to put up a fight. No, her duty was to be the Furia’s helmsman and acting-captain when neither he nor Opherla where onboard.
“It seems that way.” The boy stood from his throne and inhaled deeply. He’d be lying if he said he wasn’t scared. Terrified even. But he’d sworn to do this. And what sort of example of a man, a teacher and a Prince of the Fury would he be setting if he broke his word?
He looked down at Cauri and smiled, “You have your orders, Initiate. If you keep focused on those, I can focus on the fight.”
The girl nodded, though he could see her shaking. He didn’t blame her one bit.
Damn these so called adults for placing the fate of lives on their shoulders.
Without another word Liek vanished, his Cloud Fold moving him from the bridge of the Gau-la-Furia to the outskirts of the under construction base, not far from Callion’s position. Slowly he trudged through the snow, hands in his pockets like this was all just the average Tuesday and not at all anything serious.
Despite the blasé approach he was actually combining what he’d seen from the satellite images with what he was seeing from the ground now, assessing the number of troops, their formations and locations. If he had been alone, or had time to plan the attack with Liari and Callion before hand he may have chosen a different side of the base to attack from. But he’d work with what the stronger fighters where doing.
Telepathically he reached out to both Liari and Callion, ‘I won’t be much help against that guy. I’ll keep the small fry off your back.’ Short and concise, but thanks to being telepathy both could receive not just the words but the intentions behind them, he didn’t like either of them but he’d keep his word and put his all into making sure they could focus entirely on Arctic.

Post by Ayu on Jan 24, 2024 1:36:50 GMT -5
The cold was bothering her.
Though it wasn't the icy air that was poking microscopic needles inside her lungs with each breath, it wasn't the freezing wind and the thick snow under her feet that were troubling Ayu so much. The cold turned the tips of her green hair white and with her presence completely hidden, hoarfrost had bitten into her clothing. The landscape was desolate and unforgiving, a perfect place for setting up a Changeling's Base. In one of the old books on the Lookout, Ayu saw their kind being dubbed Frost Demons, and the name was more than fitting. The grey skies and pure white land created a serene yet unwelcoming view, one where a strikingly formidable, malicious power was standing out like a fluttering red flag. This sensation... Was overwhelming. Not strong but tremendously potent energy, cold like the heart of a glacier, composed and sharp. It easily overshadowed the countless signatures within the ship. Even before, when he was many light years away from Earth she could feel how dangerous Arctic was... But now, this close, the raw power emanating from this being was enough to shake her very core.
Though there were times before when Ayu was idle, inaction was carless on its own. She was weakened, she couldn't fly, she wasn't around, she wasn't fast or skillful enough, she wasn't conscious... All of those were excuses only her pathetic self could come up with. The shame she felt was stronger than the pain from back then. Looking back, so many things could have been prevented if Ayu had only done something - that's why this sense of self-loathing was only growing as the threat to the planet was solidifying in front of her.
And with so much at stake, with people showing up to fight the battle no one asked for - staying on the side simply watching seemed like the worst case of hypocrisy a future Guardian could have. The woman was aware that her role was to oversee the Earth, to guide the warriors, to aid them in every way possible... Just not in battle. And yet, here she was. To fight - maybe, but surely to help Liari and Callion in any way she could. To aid Liek too. She couldn't allow herself to become a burden to them or anyone. Ayu quietly prayed not for forgiveness but for Dende to accept her reasoning to be selfish... This one last time. Understanding the danger was one thing, fulfilling her duty was another... Deep down, she felt backed into the corner.
If they could spare Earth the future of slavery or in the worst case the fate of Namek and Vegeta, Ayu would be content.
Dende, Terra, and Acco were safe on the Lookout. Ayu discreetly asked Mr. Popo for help, and he dropped her off by the icy mountain without any questions. Taking a walk wasn't a problem and in no time she was close to reaching the landing spot of the spacecraft... However, she didn't approach it, instead stopping in the middle of the snowy field. Ayu was staying away from the ship and the gathering of warriors, far from ears and eyes. Her energy was hidden under a magical seal and her appearance was veiled with a pure white cloak, masking her among the snowscape. She stood still, also being a silent observer - though not from the temple, from much, much closer - and yet Far-Seeing Eyes allowed her to keep enough distance while seeing everything.
This numbing cold inside her chest wasn't going to leave anytime soon. It bothered her... Even if she didn't oppose it. Ayu placed a hand above her heart, feeling a slow, steady pulse, though the rhythm was fragile. Meek. She was here to aid them, maybe to fight if she'd be able to do so without getting in their way, that's all - after everything, their paths will separate once more. Liari will be back to her deeds and Callion will leave the planet to train again... That was for the best. She couldn't be a burden. She refused to be a burden. Even here, Ayu had to keep her emotions in check, no tears, no hesitating, no whining. Nothing, a blank mind that does what it has to do. Too much was at stake for her to distract anyone with those pesky feelings that were always abundantly flowing through her soul. With Callion's composure and Liari's disdain, they wouldn't get preoccupied with the likes of her but she couldn't risk it. Ayu was trying to kill those emotions inside her. The battle was near, the tension was high. Whatever she might feel, it wouldn't do any of them any good.
Especially not now. Not when they were standing face to face with a calamity dressed in Changeling's skin, looking back at them with superiority and pride.
Ayu pulled the hood over her face, her warm breath turning into a soft, half-translucent cloud that melted away in the icy air. The anticipation was keeping her on edge, yet ready to act - react to whatever was going to happen.
Though... Since when did this pain that she has been fighting with for weeks now, start to feel so cold..?

Opherla could feel a large amount of presences gathering around the icy wastelands, on the one day she had decided not to train in her Mastered Fury form! Opherla, back to her usual red hair and eye color, was racing to meet up with everyone as she had no choice but to gulp down each and every fear that was within her heart right now. She was getting ready to come face to face with a changeling who was ready to conquer, destroy, annihilate, do as he pleased with the Earth. Last time she was in a situation like this... South City.... she was powerless to do anything then.... and now?
Well, she was powerless to do anything now still. But she had felt Liek's power level in the midst of the group of fighters. If he was here, why shouldn't she be here? It made sense to her that if her boyfriend was going to throw himself at death itself for the hope of humanity, then Opherla would join him as his loyal and ready to help girlfriend, as she soon got closer to the field of battle and surveyed the area. Firstly, three similar power levels stuck out to her IMMEDIATELY. One was Liari. The Majin who was a terrorizing monster who had enacted a truce in this moment to help fight this massive threat that was Arctic, as Opherla was glad they had the Majin on their side, even if right after this was all over, said Majin would likely turn on them again.
Then there was Callion, the mentally struggling monk who Opherla had done her best to silence his thoughts and calm him down. Even now, however, Opherla could tell that he was still incredibly tensed up, as she looked at him with a solemn expression on her face, hoping he was at the very minimum focused on the battle in frojt of him so they could defeat Arctic here and now. Yes, Arctic may only be setting up a base here, but if they could stop him right here and now... that would mean that Earth would be safe before it was ever endangered, and that was the hope Opherla clung to as she arrived to the fight, soon showing Liek she was there by grasping his hand in a form of comfort and, (probably ironically) safety, not that Liek could protect her from this monster of a foe, but just to know that she was with him at all times during this fight.
And then Opherla saw Ayu in the fight, which honestly surprised her. Ayu was among the last people she had expected to be here. Did Ayu really come off as THAT strong!? She never came across as such at all! But Opherla was wondering if she may have been an ace in the hole. With her, Callion, and Liari combined... the three of them just might have a shot at beating Arctic by themselves, providing Ayu had something up her sleeve for this fight. Of course, Opherla and Liek would help them wherever they could, but for the time being, Arctic was actually, possibly, outdone by three individuals, even if he transformed, Opherla now had hope that the other three would be able to outpower him! Now Opherla had a spark of hope in her heart, that was brighter than it had ever been before, and now, she could really focus on helping these guys take on Arctic and Arctic alone, while she and Liek could deal with the minions surrounding him. Last thing Opherla wanted was those minions causing issues and ending up getting the best trio to fight Arctic possible killed in the process. Opherla was going to make sure that didn't happen! ....Of course this was all providing the fact Ayu had the power to even be here, around this place, and not have a fear of getting nuked to oblivion.

Near the bottom of the ramp Arctic sensed a rather impressive power level appear very close to him. At this very moment in time it was the most powerful thing he had ever sensed. Of course he knew that it didn't quite compare to himself but it was respectable, it was something that would draw his attention. His short stature would pivot to face the one responsible for this power level. His hands remained behind his back as his red beady eyes glared directly towards the one responsible for such a power. He couldn't identify the race but that wasn't what was important what was important was the words that she stated. She made it seem like she wasn't going to be a part of the resistance against him, if she was.. why would she be so bold to give a warning? Arctic couldn't help but take this as a sign and an indicator that this person could be of use and he also couldn't help but wonder if this was the Liari that Loki had warned him about. He did mention that she was dangerous and had unbelievable power and this person had seemed to fit the bill perfectly. Since it was just the two of them he was going to find out, though he was going to get to that information naturally and make his request when all of it was confirmed. While her words didn't fall on deaf ears, his own comments would come before her answers. After all, he was the one with the status and the power beyond that of imagination. He was the Emperor coming for the planet and he deemed himself the most important. "I must say, your power is more than impressive. Far beyond anything I expected from this planet." He paused a brief moment as he took a few short steps closer to her. It would be obvious that he was filled with confidence and a sense of pride. The title of galactic emperor had gone to his head. It was a title that he had given himself but it was something that he truly believed. "If I may be so bold, I'd assume you're the one they call Liari." The puzzle pieces had fit and if he were wrong then so be it. This level of power was rare and if Loki was afraid for Arctic's own well being, then this person had to be her. "My name is Arctic, the Emperor of this universe. I will remain on this planet until it's mine and the rightful leadership is put into place to manage it." It might've been odd that he was being brutally honest but the signs that she gave him were worth making an attempt to recruit such a power and open conversation was one way to make that happen. He didn't have anything to fear. He was going to conquer this planet and remain until he found one worthy of managing it while he was gone. He needed people within his faction with strength and intelligence to enforce his will while he was gone. It would likely be a very difficult task but one that was required.
"As for those who resist.." It was in this moment that the crunch of snow had been heard. It was faint but enough to force Arctic to turn his head. Another warrior had been approaching and this one also had a rather strong power level. This one had trumped all of his soldiers as well but he couldn't help but think by the manner of approach that he was up for talking. "They will die by my hand." "I didn't expect to run into another monkey so soon."He said as his beady red eyes focused on Callion as he came to a stop. The warrior had remained silent and determined. Arctic had taken into account the nod he had given to the female warrior before him and initially thought that maybe this woman was here to resist him. This was something that he took into account and moving forward would take the appropriate steps to negate. This warrior was calm and very confident, all the signs read that he was here for a fight. If him and Liari knew each other it wouldn't be a surprise if he could reach this super saiyan form and the last thing Arctic wanted was to be caught by surprise and get attacked by two powerful warriors while he remained in his base form. During the moment of silence between Arctic and Callion, he had also sensed two other power levels in the area. It would seem as if the resistance was coming to meet him much sooner than expected. While he saw the logic in their plans, he believed that they underestimated exactly what it was that they were going up against. While it was best to catch the soldiers off guard while they weren't prepared and still setting up, Arctic was always ready and in a way he was looking forward to this, but he would give all of them a chance to kneel before him for a chance at life, for a chance to join his Empire. While he hated Saiyan warriors, he could still very well make use of them so long as he didn't allow for them to get strong. He would have to monitor them and destroy them before they became a threat. It was in this moment that Arctic's feet rose up and off the ground and he brought all his limbs into his chest. A sphere of purple had surrounded his body as a bright light had started to glow inside. Within a short few seconds the light would expand and shatter the sphere. Arctic was now on his feet and standing at six foot six inches in his mastered Fifth Form. He transformed just in case the female in front of him was just trying to lure him into a false sense of security but he had an idea to see if her warning about the resistance had any merit.
He would project the sound of his voice further, allowing all those in the immediate area to hear his demand. He was only going to say this once. This would be their one and only chance to get away. Whether they would flee or listen to his will would determine the chances of their survival. Those who refused to follow his will would be eliminated. "Come before me and kneel and your lives may be spared." Though he paused for a moment, his body hovering inches off the ground as he crossed his arms. His now blue eyes looking over to Liari. "As for you, I wouldn't disrespect such power with such a request. A power such as your own requires.. a display of it. If you wish for more power and a place by my side.." Of course, he was now playing his hand and gambling on his suspicions. She had come and immediately warned him of an incoming threat. If she was going to fight him she would need to show her own hand soon but if that wasn't her intentions, he had a much better idea for her. She would find a place by his side and within his empire if she all but did one thing. "Kill those who refuse."

No sooner than Liari had spoken her warning, the warriors of which she spoke had began to trickle in. First was Callion, popping into existence within the camp as the Majin had. Then there were the munchkins, Opherla and Liek, who hung back, staying relatively distant from what was certainly to be a bloody, brutal battle. Liek even made a proposal: that he was keeping his gun aimed at the soldiers lest they attempt to assist their master. She considered firing back with something snarky, perhaps even throwing the boy a look that would freeze him deeper than any hypothermia the ice could stain him with... but in the end, she judged it useless. If she DID survive this thing, she would have plenty of time to torment the young, emotionally-odd, boy in any number of ways. It would be better to focus on what was REALLY important....
Her. ...Apparently.
Among the others, it was Liari herself that Arctic gave special attention to, remarking that her power was vast, FAR greater than anything he'd ever expected to find here. As if tapping an oil-spout, PRIDE swelled in Liari's chest at his words, a smile TUGGING (albeit fruitlessly) at the edges of her lips. Ah, acknowledgement at last. AND IT ONLY TOOK THE MOST POWERFUL THING IN THE UNIVERSE (probably) to notice her to get it! Already, her mind grew fuzzy on Arctic's comment, her need to show off growing strong enough to make the tips of her fingers tingle. There was a certain desire to just SHOW this man, this truly fearsome reptile, just how much power she was holding back... She could feel the ape inside, CLAWING to get out, its chains rattling furiously beneath her skin as she held it just at bay. Not yet... but soon, she would have her fun... After all, as per her little promise with Callion, if they were having a conversation as... pleasant as this one, there were chances a fight might not happen at all!
...But wait, there was more. He called her by NAME! HER name! Liari blinked, doing her best to SUPPRESS the blush burning upon her cheeks before it had a chance to glow! Someone knew her out there? Had she become famous...? Sure, she expected her FACE to be known. She surely had caused enough havoc on Earth, and in general, to DESERVE that basic level of recognition... but was it possible that her NAME had somehow touched the tongues of aliens as well? Was she some kind of... celebrity-equivalent? She nodded at Artic, confirming her identity to him. He would look around acknowledging the little flies that had come before him. He introduced himself as the EMPEROR of the UNIVERSE and... yeah... that checked. The calm intensity surrounding the Changeling was enough to scream "KING" but the power bubbling beneath the surface... the ENERGY he had in reserve why... it was unfathomable... and she was CERTAIN what she thought she felt in there wasn't even all of it!
"Believe it or not, I AM honored." Liari stated genuinely, bowing her head before the declared emperor. "I felt you were coming for some time. Your power... it's hard to miss. Stunning." The hunger in that last word was obvious, the glint in her eye, the wetness of her teeth... Liari stared at Arctic with respect, yes... but also... something else... It was like a small, starving predator looking up at a goliath behemoth, ALL meat and bone she could ever want... if she could just TAKE it! She knew it was impossible alone... Even with these jokers around her, she doubted she had the strength.... but that power... it made her HUNGRY... Oh, so HUNGRY...
"I would expect nothing less, Emperor." Liari stated, her voice starting to pick up, her face brightening at the Changeling's threat! "...That's what power SHOULD be used for. Heh... Crushing your rivals... and loving every bit of it!" Liari raised a fist in agreement, making a show of grinding her fingers into her palm as if crushing a stone to sand. It would be then that Arctic would acknowledge Callion, referring to him as a "monkey." The Majin grinned wider, so much so that it pulled at the edges of her face. One could imagine how refreshing it was to hear someone you despised being talked down to as much as YOU felt they deserved by someone else. She glanced over at Callion, her eyes flashing RED for a second in knowing, before flicking them back to Arctic. She then pointed a thumb at the monkey beside her.
"You would do well not to underestimate this one, Emperor." Liari warned, her grin growing wider. Sharp. "He's as strong as he is simian."
....Well... Either that flipped a switch in the cosmic king or he had been planning to do it right about then because suddenly, he was enveloped in a sphere of ki! Suddenly, his power INSTANTLY jumped past Liari's DOUBLING it, NEARLY TRIPLING IT IN A SECOND! Liari jerked back a step, her cape nearly CHOKING HER as it PULLED wildly against her neck, the Majin's eyes shooting wide as Arctic's full power BORE down upon her! Liari took a step back, then two, having to cover her eyes with a forearm as light CRACKED through the ki-shell! The air pulsated with power so thick, the Majin could taste it, the ground barely holding its form beneath the sheer PRESSURE being crushed down into it! When Liari lowered her arm, she nearly RECOILED at the body Arctic now inhabited, armored with spikes, horns, a new carapace, just about everything you needed to say: "I'm gonna kill you... And it's not gonna be pretty."
He commanded they KNEEL, fore he was the lord of all that was Earthling. ...And his voice... It was compelling. Every survival instinct in the Majin's brain told her that NOW would be a good time to just obey, to kneel before the Emperor of the Universe... until she could make her move upon him herself. Why not? He was giving them a chance to LIVE! That meant he believed he would ALWAYS be stronger than them! Liari looked to Callion, then at Arctic... She honestly didn't think the Monk-monkey had an intelligent cell in his body but THIS...? HOW DO YOU FIGHT THIS!?
Liari opened her mouth to speak (What would she even say...?) but Arctic's look stopped her cold. He gazed upon Liari with a judgemental eye... before presenting the Majin with an exception to his demand! He could stand beside him, a servant, yes, but one above those kneeling! He... valued her power... he VALUED HER! All she need do... is kill the dissidents! Liari looked at Callion again... then burst out LAUGHING! Liari LAUGHED AND LAUGHED... Not at the EMPEROR, NO! ...but how RIDICULOUS she was to follow that stupid little truce in the first place! She grinned widely at the Emperor before fading into cubes, rematerializing by his side with a sword in hand. She stared at Callion... leveling her blade at the Saiyan monk.
"You heard our new Emperor." Liari commanded. "Kneel before him. NOW!"

Play song:( Cometh the hour pt1 by shiro SAGISU) Zaks stood on the deck of her ship her eyes closed as her senses took in the current situation of the earth. Artic had been here a little while and while that had been freighting it was calm for the lack of better words. but now... it seemed like he was no longer content to wait and seemed to be building his base up that he would use to take over earth. She could not help but wonder if the base would receive the honors of being earths new capital were the emperor first graced earth with his being. "" Would be fitting wouldn't it?""
A large pit formed inside the Saiyan Queens gut as she stared out at the horizon. Why stay and fight? Earth had betrayed her constantly stabbing her in the back and her duty was to her people. the survivors were on lieks ship and none of the children and non combatants were in danger. Slowly the pit in her stomach moved upward into her chest making it hard to breath making her skin flush with emotion. She couldn't think anymore her head pounded to much she had to slam her eyes shut before the light added to it. Even through the pain and mental anguish she could still feel all the fighters reacting to the new threat that had targeted earth. "" Liari...Liek..Callion...Opherla..Ayu"" All of them were people Zaks had met and honestly good people. Well Liari was a stretch and a pretty big one at that but still important to Zaks. Zaks was angry that she had been ...lazy her body tensed as she realized it. She had become complacent, so focused on how earth had betrayed her that she stopped training. She...was honestly angry at herself. She was sitting her thinking about breaking her promise again to earth...no fuck earth. To her friends."" No...not again.""
Slowly she turned to look at her men and she met there gazes her eyes once again hard and no longer racked with indecision. "" Everyone I need you to stay here except Gemini and The General. This will be the first clash...and just both sides testing each other... it is not time to die recklessly. ""
The three figures made there way to the airlock of the ship and waited for the bulky metal doors to open in earths upper atmosphere the cold air sending chills through the fighters bodies. All three of them leaped front he ship anyway and let gravity do its job of dragging them down to the surface. Zaks And the General aimed there decent to allow them to meet up with Liari and Callion but Gemini broke ranks and started to head into the snow surrounding the fledging base.. She had her own mission to do and she had to make sure...no one saw her as she fell to the earth her Ki completely hidden as she became buried in the snow.
Zaks and her general fell to the earth letting the air rush past them letting the cold air caress her skin before the upcoming battle. Or what ever it was gonna be.. more then likely a slaughter. Her suspicions were proven correct when she felt his power explode sending every nerve on her body on edge. This was artic? Her fear curled up in her gut as she realized... the fighters here could not stop Artic at all. But she had to try anyway...She cared for all these people here in some fashion and she could not let them die. Besides they were the Key to being able to overthrow or kill him to begin with. They had to survive.
Taking a deep breath she looked straight ahead as she fell to the earth her eyes turning Gold as her own power surged turning her into a silver comet aimed directly at the earth. She smiled as she noticed Shizo was just beside her his own aura flashing gold as he turned into a super Saiyan and matched her decent. Suddenly the two stopped mid air along side Callion one to his left and the other to his right. both of there powers shinning into the air around them. The Saiyan Queen gave no words of her arrival besides a soft nod to Callion. before turning her head to Opherliea. A small smirk played on her lips as she noticed the little wolf was now growing up and quickly. With a false bravado she winked to her before turning back to face the Emperor.
Her Golden eyes Fell on liari who now stood besides Artic a look of sadness fell into them as she regarded her. Liari was.. her.. well hell she didn't know who she was to her other then the one who always pushed her to become stronger then before. She was also... one of the few people she knew would understand her if she ever explained her feelings to her. Not the goody two-shoe ones. No.. the ones that she kept hidden and rarely let others see. The ones she took revenge on the earthlings that killed her daughter. The ones she killed Athren...or even the bastard who ran away from her children. Zaks kept those feelings hidden for a reason and part of that reason was Liari.... not that she would ever tell the loud Majin that she was her biggest role model. Not her hero...but definitely shaped her into who she was... and she had held out hope. That for the first time she would get to fight alongside her like a comrade.. must be a Saiyan thing.
While the Queen and General had made a bold entrance it was not the same for Gemini who kept her course with no corrections as she aimed for a distant power level that was making her way to the battle field. She wanted to steer them away from the fighting as they were such a kind soul. she had briefly met her when Zaks had visited her one time on the look out... a kind soul that needed to be protected by Zaks own words. she needed to hurry and get to her and steer her away so she could get back and Help Zaks fight artic or at least do something helpful."" MISS AYU!! "" she shouted as she landed in front of the Green woman with a small crash her power already blazing about her in a brilliant purple. "" You need to leave here! It isn't safe! Post by Callion on Jan 27, 2024 9:35:51 GMT -5
Even now, in this moment… Callion could sense the power that radiated off from Artic, the terror, fear, and sheer overwhelming force that he was dominating with was truly a sight to behold. Indeed, a power and status worthy of one that was titled ‘Emperor of the Universe’. Callion remained as he was, quiet and steadfast even at the instance of such a powerful transformation before the Saiyans eyes, the very notion of killing those who resist his conquest of the planet was something to be taken seriously, and the fact that Artic acknowledge the Saiyan that remained silent as the two gazed upon one another. Then, of course, Liari betrayed and broke the truce by siding with Artic, re-emerging by his side with sword in her hand, commanding Callion to kneel before Artic. The Saiyan was silent, not even uttering a word – as his eyes slowly gazed at Liari. He wasn’t angry, nor surprised, or even concerned about her betrayal. What Callion was feeling? He was just done with Liari. He was tired of her constant attempts of power, her evil ways, and the constant notion of surviving by any means necessary than to fight against such a powerful adversary. Her very cowardice made him SICK. Callion was just done taking her even remotely seriously anymore. Callion continued to just silently gaze at Liari for a whole minute before turning his gaze to Artic once more. The Saiyan just remained quiet, not a single ounce of fear or even movement at all from the stalwart Saiyan, drinking the entire situation before his eyes. There was a notion that Callion emitted from all of this: He wasn’t scared, terrified or even worried. After all, the Saiyan died once by Liari’s hand no less, and she was under the control and influence of the very changelings that held onto her like a leash, and here she was again, back to another Changeling who she swore fealty to. Truly, her leash is forever around her neck. Then there’s Artic. The dominant and radiant soul of a being that commanded absolute power that was more deserving of respect that anyone else in the area… Is what Callion would like to think, had he not used the dragonballs to wish himself to become the most powerful being in the universe and earn such a pathetic shortcut to power. Any notion of such respect was not even remotely acceptable in the Saiyans eyes. “You are powerful… Such a simple offer of mercy to kneel is generous… And standing infront of you, to deny is something only someone who was mad to refuse…”Callion spoke softly and in his tone, as he walked backwards and looked as though he was just about to kneel… Until he decided to dust his left thigh and legs before straightening up. “But the uuuh… The IDEA of kneeling… It’s… You see…”Callion, clicked his kneck from side to side, his tail flowing freely for a moment. “Training constantly in the hopes to fight you, alongside training your newfound pet beside you…” Callion gestured towards Liari, addressing her no longer by her name, but instead the reality of what he saw what Liari was to the Changeling race: A pet. “All those drills and hardwork has left a nasty cramp in my legs, so unfortunately… Kneeling will be hard for me.” Callion maintained a calm and collected demeanour, seemingly unfazed by the tense atmosphere. He took a step forward, narrowing his eyes at Artic, as if sizing up the Emperor of the Universe. His Saiyan pride wouldn't allow him to kneel so easily, especially not before someone who had taken a shortcut to power through the use of the Dragon Balls. "You know, I've been thinking," Callion said, a sly smirk forming on his face. "Power is a funny thing. Some achieve it through hard work, dedication, and the thrill of battle. Others," he glanced pointedly at Artic, and also addressing Liari, but not even dignifying her with pointing at her, "take the shortcut. Dragon Balls, really? How does it feel, Emperor, to have power handed to you on a silver platter?"He continued to circle Artic, his eyes never leaving the imposing figure. Liari's betrayal may have stung, but Callion had grown indifferent to it. The Saiyan was driven by a different motivation now—a desire to prove that true strength came from within, earned through blood, sweat, and tears. "As for your offer of mercy, well, I appreciate the sentiment, but I've never been one for bowing down to those who haven't earned their place," Callion declared, his voice carrying an air of defiance. "I've faced death once, and I won't grovel before it now." With a sudden burst of energy, Callion powered up, his aura flaring around him like a fiery storm. The ground beneath him trembled as he assumed a fighting stance, ready to confront the Emperor of the Universe head-on. "So, if it’s alright with you… Let’s just skip the warmup," he declared, his eyes flashing with determination. The cramp in his legs seemingly forgotten, Callion unleashed a primal roar, challenging the so-called Emperor to a battle that would determine the true ruler of the universe. A surge of energy enveloped Callion as he channelled the power within him, tapping into a transformation he had kept concealed from all eyes—the Full Power Super Saiyan 2. The air crackled with electricity as his muscles expanded, and golden energy radiated from his body, forming a powerful aura that danced with intense lightning. His hair, once jet black, now stood on end, transformed into a vibrant platinum golden blaze that seemed to defy gravity. The golden glow emanating from Callion intensified, casting a radiant light across the battlefield. His eyes, now a fierce electric crimson red, bore a determination that matched the fiery power surging through his veins. The transformation brought with it a palpable increase in strength, speed, and intensity. Every movement of Callion's body was swift and purposeful, leaving afterimages in his wake. The energy generated by his Full Power Super Saiyan 2 crackled audibly, creating an awe-inspiring spectacle that demanded respect. As Callion unleashed his newfound form, the ground beneath him quivered, unable to contain the sheer power surging through his body. The air itself seemed to vibrate with the force of his transformation, creating shockwaves that echoed through the battlefield. In this state, Callion was a force to be reckoned with—a warrior at the pinnacle of Saiyan power. His punches and kicks carried the weight of a celestial storm, each strike leaving behind a trail of golden energy. The aura surrounding him roared like a tempest, echoing his unyielding spirit and determination to face any adversary. As he gazed upon Artic, the so-called Emperor of the Universe, Callion spoke with newfound confidence, his voice echoing with the resonance of his unleashed power. “So. Emperor. If it’s all the same to you. I’d like to see what you’re made of, I can have the pleasure of fighting you.”

Opherla’s presence and her hand in his was both a blessing and a curse to Liek. Her stalwart presence at his side gave him a strength and determination the likes of which he could have never mustered on his own. In the short time they’d been together she had become the shining beacon of his life, the guiding light that kept him on the proper path despite all the fear and stress that had plagued him. Despite being thrust into such an insane situation so soon after losing his sole parental figure, despite finding the world facing a Galaxy level threat despite not even being an adult yet, he’d been able to keep himself from completely losing it thanks to her.
But having her here, right here, right now, as they prepared to face Arctic… all he could wish for right now was for her to have chosen to flee with the Gau-la-Furia. He knew it was unfair and irrational, she was a fighter the same as he was. She was stronger even. But he was still a man, and as sexist as it was to think that way he still considered it his duty as a man to keep the woman he loved safe.
And then Arctic decided to play his hand. The fiend’s power surged higher and higher, surpassing Liari’s new power and going even further. It just kept rising, the chill of horror worked it’s icy claws around the boy’s heart as the taste of bile filled his mouth. The child could barely breath from the sheer power radiating off the Changeling and the how evil it felt. He visibly paled as cold sweat began to bead across his forehead. He and Opherla was completely outmatched, even at their absolute best they where like bugs to this guy… but if Liari and Callion worked together then-
Then Liari betrayed them all.
Like the shameless hag she was she turned her back on them, broke her word and sided with the being they’d all sworn to destroy. Because of course she would. The boy barely more then the surface level details about the Majin wench, but switching sides on a dime, not even having the modicum of pride in her own power or reputation, seemed to fit with the modus operandi of the bubblegun bitch.
The overwhelming feeling of loss blinded the youth to the arrival of Zaks, instead his mind being entirely overcome by the ultimatum presented to them by Arctic and reinforced by Liari. They where to kneel before him, or they would die. Either by Arctic’s hand or, more likely, by Liari’s. It was likely a nightmare. Liek felt like throwing up, and had to actively fight down the bile that threatened to make it’s way out of his stomach.
His grip on Opherla’s hand tightened as his mind turned back to her. His blue eyes slowly looking towards her as his breath hitched and caught in his throat, the thought of facing these overwhelming, impossible odds, fighting desperately in a vain hope they could somehow, by some miracle, come out victorious. Only for them all to die, slowly but surely. His mind imagined what would happen to Opherla, slowly picked apart by Liari, her screaming in pain as the Majin tortured just for fun, him entirely helpless to do a damn thing about it.
His grip tightened even further and he nearly sobbed while gripping Opherla’s hand even tighter and biting his lip. He couldn’t, wouldn’t, let that happen. He looked back at Liari as his heart filled with pure hatred and resentment, the dark emotions of his inner demon running wild in it’s cage, all of it’s malice focused squarely at the traitor.
But even as he seethed his knees bent. ‘Better to survive and live to fight another day, better prepared’ as the Fury would have said. He tugged on Opherla’s hand, trying to convince her wordlessly to follow his lead. Better to kneel now and live. At least now they knew what they where up against, now they knew what heights to aim for and train to reach them. But they couldn’t do that if they died.
Sure, Liek knew it was possible to come back. He’d had both Callion and Liari tell him as much on separate occasions. But that didn’t mean he wanted to die. It especially didn’t mean he wanted Opherla to die either!

Inaction was careless.
Ayu felt the weight on her chest increase when she noticed others approaching. So many souls decided to do something, it didn't feel right to just stay away... She started walking, her hood falling softly onto her back as the cold wind blew. Aside from Liari, Callion, and Liek, she noticed Opherla flying by and joining the warriors. On one hand, she wasn't sure if they could do it - on another, every little bit of help could be priceless. With the brink of her awareness, Ayu could sense Zaks and the people she commanded drawing near. It seemed that everyone was there... Well, more or less. She couldn't sense Athren but knowing that he hides his presence very well, he might have already been there. All the more reason for her to abandon the convenience of the neutral area and step out to, at least once, do something right.
Someone was coming her way..? Ayu glanced to the side at the purple-skinned woman, who appeared seemingly out of nowhere, creating a small impact that sent snow in the air. The warrior in Saiyan armor warned her kindly that it wasn't safe and that she should evacuate... As if Ayu wasn't aware of that and who was there at the end of the road. She couldn't help but smile gently at the woman and nod lightly.
"I know," Ayu replied without stopping, passing by Zaks's warrior with her eyes again fixed on the people in front of the Arctic's ship.
A cold power, energy so strong it was easily making her tremble. Ayu was sick to her stomach, not because the power itself was so overwhelming... But the hue of this aura was one she never had an unlucky chance to witness. Confident to the point of conviction. The Changeling was the type of being who calculated everything, the usefulness of his people and resources - and when their time expired. She couldn't feel a shred of respect for life. People will die in a rat race of sorts, competing to show how useful they were to him - not out of respect, but out of fear.
Her steps did not falter when she heard Liari joining Arctic without a heartbeat of doubt - but the blade called betrayal was carving lines in her heart. The tip of the knife was slowly writing letters and Ayu could already tell what the bloody symbols would spell. You couldn't do anything again.
... Liari was still a child, in a way. How could she be not..? An exceptionally strong, extremely fickle being with the mind of a child who was easily swayed by words of appreciation. To the point that the fear she once felt of the consequences of her action, being hunted down by a vengeful native of Frost, turned into a delight once she realized there was no payment for her past deed. With sweet words, with the recognition she wanted to hear, Arctic was going to make use of her. How did she know? It wasn't the first time it happened, was it? A pair of changelings did the exact thing long ago, and Liari was... Falling for it again. Ayu's steps were fast and she always had a good hearing The more she heard Arctic's voice, the longer he spoke - the more unsettling feelings started to set in her stomach, dread, anxiety, and suspicion were digging claws in her chest.
He's lying to you.
Her voice carried a telepathic warning, softly ringing inside Liari's head. Step, by step, she was getting closer. The surges of energy created a gale that swept away her cloak but the sole heat from the pulsing auras kept the icy air at bay. The cape flew away, fluttering in the wind somewhere above them. And Ayu was here, silent, looking no different than any other day.
Except her pale yellow eyes were full of somberness.
Callion roared nearby, energy coursing through his body. A crackle akin to lightning started to dance all around his aura. The transformation swept the snow from under their feet and melted it in an instant. He didn't think twice, raising his head high and staring Arctic down. In this madness all around them, betrayal and hurt feelings, even with doubt dwelling under the surface, his calmness and confidence felt reassuring. Knowing that it wasn't easy, to keep one's mind so sharp, he was one they all depended in this moment. Even if just a little - a character steady in his resolve despite the death looking him straight in the face for the second time. Ayu wanted to wish him luck and tell him to be careful... But she couldn't. She shouldn't. When the odds were so uneven, will it have any meaning..? What she felt didn't carry any significance whatsoever. Familiar, cold needles poked at her heart but she ignored that feeling. Was it acceptance or not, Callion was going to fight with the raw power he had against the person who claimed the right to their planet. It was cruel and unfair that he was carrying this weight on his own... However, the bottomless trust, respect, and gratitude Ayu carried deep down wouldn't be able to compare to anything else.
Completely different from Arctic's order to kill anyone who won't kneel in front of him. He was showing authority through fear, obedience growing from oppression, and alliances obtained with manipulation.
There was no way Ayu could blame Liek and Opherla for fearing for their life. Even with Zaks's arrival and her squad joining them, she couldn't tell how this encounter could end. With the corner of her eye, she noticed Liek's pale face, his body shivering and slowly starting to kneel. She could never hold it against him. Maybe... Maybe Ayu would have done too. That pit in her stomach wasn't any different from what they were feeling. It would have been easier to kneel, show dependence, and live to see another day - on the mercy of Changeling whose only value of others was how they were useful to him and only him specifically. If he wanted to sway Liari, he wouldn't touch Terra. He'd make them join him under the threat of being killed, creating a world where none knows when their life could end. When one's got absolute rule over everything, the rest can do nothing else but struggle to survive by any means necessary.
She didn't want people she cared about to live in such a place. She wouldn't allow the children she loved to grow up in that hell.
Ayu stopped in front of terrified Liek and Opherla. She stood face to Liari, with them behind her back, her arms raised in case Opherla needed more time to make a decision. That was the least she could do right now, as she tried to reason with the Blue... Pale Blue Majin.
"I am here as the Guardian of this planet," she spoke up in a gentle tone. "I wished to know your intention, but they are clear at this point so I won't waste anyone's time asking." Her words were addressed to Arctic. It was... Different. Ayu was scared so terribly, shaking to her core but her body wasn't trembling. Her voice was calmly, unnaturally composed again, reminding her of that one time this cold composure washed over her. Yet, it wasn't the same as before. Everything was getting numb with this coldness that was growing from the inside - her heavy, aching heart.
You were deceived by Changelings before. Ayu reminded her with a calm tone, talking telepathically to Liari and Liari alone. There was nothing similar to scolding or pitying Majin in her voice, only a quiet yet undeniable fact - that this indeed had happened in the past. It seemed that this memory was lingering in Ayu's mind, branding her with a sense of hopelessness. And I promised that I wouldn't allow anyone anymore to take advantage of you. She stated, closing her eyes for a moment, her heartbeat so loud it was almost deafening everything else around her.
It happened so long but the memories of their death were fresh. The sensation of Callion's Ki dying out, the view of Liari's body breaking down right in front of her, the recollection of all the people dying...
Liari could have been the menace incarnated, she could have been a Majin of evil and chaos and uncontrolled urges... A person everyone loathed and despised, making others sick with her impulses. Nor Terra, nor Moire, nor Ayu would be ever more important to her than the unimaginable power she was craving. No life, no oath, no person would be ever sacred enough to not be killed on the altar to feed that hunger for strength. And right now - it was hard to decide what to do. Liari could hate her to her heart's content. That would be fine. The Majin already detested her so much that it shouldn't make any difference. Ayu found it hard to not hate herself anymore too.
But she was her little sister.
"Forgive me for not making the decision yet, but I would like to talk to you, Liari," She turned to her, looking into her red eyes without any hesitation but without any griefs either. "In private."

In an instant after she had arrived, despite being in the presence of her beloved Liek, Opherla would see the horror that would snap all hope from her very being as she horrifyingly looked at the situation change on a moment's notice, as suddenly, a winnable situation turned unwinnable in the flicker of an eye, as she watched one person that had been on their end of the fight warp from their end to beside Arctic, as Opherla's eyes showed the hope leave her face, and be replaced by fear, as she watched Liari's change of heart, well, change of heart wasn't the correct terminology here, rather, breach of truce that she had formed with the forces of Earth, as Opherla had all of the air sucked out of her lungs like a vacuum had just been turned on, as she now surveyed the brand new situation... and feeling Liek's own demeanor change as well... Opherla was now a bundle of raving emotions of all kinds. Anger, fear, sorrow, hopelessness, despair, agony, all of it bounced around in her brain like a rabid ping pong ball, as she looked at Liek to see what he would do.
Opherla watched the young boy's struggle with pained eyes, looking at him go from fear of Arctic's power to hatred of Liari's betrayal, back to fear, and anger, and sorrow, all the emotions Opherla felt she knew Liek was likely feeling himself, as she was at a loss of words to try and say anything to change anything of the situation. What could she say? What could she change? This situation was becoming a direct instant replay of South City, all over again. Opherla, the weakling puppy, as she had been back in those times...
Was she always going to be that in the grand scheme of it all? No matter what she did? Was she going to be a weak pup? A dog that was hounded by a pack of wolves who could eat her alive at any moment? Was all of this growth, all of this training... for nothing? Opherla's darkest fears and pains surfaced as her eyes trembled and her mouth wavered, trying to form sentences even though she couldn't. In the end, she did the only thing she knew she could, turning to Liek to see what his answer was... and she would see him kneeling. Kneeling down to Arctic and Liari... And Opherla couldn't believe it. The man she knew and loved, who always wanted to protect her and fight with her, was choosing to bow down to Arctic, instead of fight him, as she teared up upon seeing it. Opherla looked betrayed almost, seeing this from Liek, as she choked and sobbed, trying to find any words to urge him NOT to fight! For him NOT to give in!
....But it was useless. Words were failing her at this moment. And at this moment as well, they were meaningless. What could Opherla do? ...There was only one thing she knew how to do in this moment, and likely was the reason Liek had chosen to do the same. She hated the prospect. She HATED the idea... but in their powerless state, her and Liek... what else COULD she do.
Opherla swallowed her guilt and every other feeling in her heart, as she hung her head in shame... she, a so called Defender of this planet, a beacon this planet should follow... at this very moment, forced to do one thing she didn't ever want to do, to any power or any being, or anything in between. But if Liek chose to kneel down...
Then so would she, as Opherla knelt down before Arctic, joining her hands with Liek as she shed tears of regret and pain, ready to hear any lashing from Callion or anyone else for her cowardice... but Opherla couldn't help. Not now.
....Not ever.

With Liari joining his side he couldn't help but smirk. Without a single doubt in his mind she had made the right decision and just in time too. I had appeared that the warriors of Earth were still making their appearances on the battlefield. Liari was going to have her moment to put her full power on display and get into this fight and she was going to be a very valuable asset to him here. Arctic had no doubts that his power was superior to all those who had been arriving but their numbers were going to be more than enough to get on his nerves. Especially if they had decided to all fight him at once. With Liari now repeating him and demanding everybody kneel was when he had noticed another power level appear. It was the Queen of the Saiyans. He couldn't help but chuckle, he wanted her head. While he had hoped she had died on Vegeta, he was grateful that wasn't the case but he also couldn't help but be surprised that she was here and about to fight for Earth when she had abandoned her own planet. For a saiyan, that was something that didn't seem probable. Nevertheless, she was here and she was going to die. At this moment he thought that she was going to be his first target, he had planned on eliminating her immediately she she seemed to be in the super saiyan form.
After the demands had been made Arctic observed to see the reactions of all. The first saiyan to arrive had begun his heroic speech. His attempt to gain the attention of Arctic. He was simply refusing to kneel. He claimed that kneeling would be difficult here due to a nasty cramp in his leg.
"I suppose I'll just have to force you to kneel then. Won't I, Monkey?"
However, the words that were shot out next would be something that would be rather surprising. This warrior had knowledge of the Dragon Balls. Arctic was under the impression that they were something that wasn't common knowledge but he spit it out like everybody here knew about them. He couldn't help but think of how he knew about the Dragon Balls and if he were to spit this information out in front of Liari, somebody who now opposed him he couldn't help but think that she knew about them too. He'd ask her about this later but for now, he had a fight on his hands. It wasn't just the Dragon Ball knowledge, but it seemed as if this saiyan had an issue with how Arctic obtained his power and the truth was, it didn't matter how one got their power or position in the universe, what mattered was that they obtained it.
"The question isn't how I feel having this power but instead how I'll feel using this power to squeeze the life out of you. You preach as if you have power yet I see none."
It was in this moment that the saiyan warrior had began to charge up his energy. The surrounding area rumbled as the ice cracked and shattered around them as he was drawing out what he claimed to be power. It seemed as if this was going to be the extent of everything he had, after all he did wish to skip the warm up. The warrior had shown his hand and was in the transformation Arctic had assumed was a super saiyan, yet his own form had made him much stronger than the Queen. This was more than enough to change priorities. He would much rather kill the much stronger saiyan than the one with the title.
"So this is what a Super Saiyan is capable of? I expected more from such a title."
Of course he was referring to the name of the transformation he had heard about not a title such as the Queens. Though before he was to engage with Callion he had another situation to deal with. A green woman had approached during the transformation and he couldn't help but watch from her corner of his eye as she made her way to Liari. She had been so bold to request an audience with Liari in private. Now that wasn't an option either, it was either kneel or die and she wasn't going to be the one setting the rules. He positioned himself between Liari and Ayu and with a swift movement of his hand he aimed a backhand towards the Green womans cheek. He was aiming to slap her towards Callion and separate them from Liari. He would deal with the two of them while Liari would have her orders.
"Liari, if you would be so kind. Bring me the Queen's head."
He paused a moment not forgetting to acknowledge those who had been smart enough to kneel before him. "As for the two of you."
This was directed to Liek and Opherla.
"You are free to leave with your lives. I shall seek you out when this is over to discuss the terms of your service." Of course he was going to put them to use. They had potential and he was going to use every asset he could on this planet. So long as they hadn't been in a position of power to actually be a threat to him, he would allow them to live in his service.
Now that the stage had been set for battle, Liari had been tasked with killing Zaks and Arctic had stood between Ayu and Callion and the newest addition to his forces. He could sense that Liari should be more than enough to handle Zaks and as it currently stood, Ayu and Callion would stand no chance against him. He was going to put his true power on display and this fight would shake the planet to it's very core.
His eyes glared at Ayu and Callion,
"Shall we begin?"
He asked as he let them make the first move.

Wow. Even facing annihilation itself, Callion couldn't shut up. Honestly, given his blood, she doubted he would bow, much less to a Changeling. Given the history of their people and the impulses that drove Saiyans, defiance was in their nature. Limits, authority, it really didn't matter so long as victory was conceivable. ...But for god's SAKE did this one like to talk. He was even petty enough to make a passing jab at the Majin, referring to her as a "pet" of Arctic! Oh NO! AN INSULT! AND ONE AS CALLOW AS THAT! WHAT EVER SHALL SHE DO!? Liari said nothing, only gesturing for Callion to drop to his knees with her sword. He could wax lyrical all he wanted from his place on the ground. She didn't care if he had a speech as long as his hair prepared, just so long as he was willing to kneel. In the end... She had won. Everyone knew it. Athren wasn't here to interfere (which was a pleasant, if unexpected, surprise), Pran had disappeared to rally Earth's human defenses, no doubt, and all that had come to back up those with REAL power were the remaining dregs. Opherla and Liek had already given up and Zaks, who had just appeared from nowhere. The Majin caught the eye of the Saiyan Queen, she who was looking down upon her with disbelief painted across her face.
"On your knees with your subjects, Zaks." Liari commanded, nodding at the other half-breeds. "In short, you've lost. You lost since the moment you got here. Now be a good monkey and do as you're told." ...Liari then blinked, turning her head towards Ayu. She... was she SPEAKING to her right now? The Majin stared at the green-skinned woman as she proclaimed her intentions for an audience with her... as if the way this was going to go down hadn't become abundantly clear already. Liari glanced between her, Callion, and then Arctic, confused if all three of them were hearing the same thing. Was... Was she not aware of the full scope of the situation? It was compliance or DEATH. There WAS no negotiation. There wasn't going to BE any secret meetings. What part of any of this indicated that either SHE or Arctic would be amenable to such a thing?
"No." Liari stated flatly, locking eyes with Ayu. "Obey or DIE. There are no other options." Liari scanned the people in front of her from the Saiyan royalty down to the children on their knees. "You all don't seem to get it. Emperor Arctic IS power. There IS no victory here for you. You have no room to negotiate and there will BE no bargaining. You will KNEEL or you will simply cease to exist. One of you has already chosen to die. Don't be an idiot and make the same decision."
Well, it seemed like the liberty of such a choice wouldn't be granted to one of them. As Callion flashed GOLD, his power skyrocketing, his hair spiking, Arctic would give the command for Liari to bring him Zaks' head! Oh BOY! She'd always wanted to take a fight with Zaks to the finish! Her only regret is that it didn't happen sooner. Zaks would then shoot in front of Ayu, warning her that this wasn't a safe place! for her! The Majin rolled her eyes. Oh... REALLY? She wondered what gave her THAT idea!? However, as her eyes rolled, they fell upon Liek and Opherla once again. She could feel their shattered spirits rattling around in their husks from here. She could SEE how fragile their mental states were just from the sunken looks in their eyes! As annoying as they have been in the past... maybe they would make decent enough servants... maybe even the odds a little... Arctic HAD, just a moment ago, offered them amnesty... but that didn't mean they couldn't make use of them while they were here!
It is so sad... Liari's voice whispered into their minds. Look at you. So frail... so WEAK. Overshadowed by the strength of the fools beside you, putting everything at risk for their own pride. You're ashamed. You want to do more. You're hungry for the power ot make a difference. ...But I can change that... Submit to me now... Offer up your minds and I will give you strength. I will make you strong enough to protect what you value on this planet. Your lives will no longer be in the hands of these idiots. Obey... and you will be TRULY strong!
If Liari sensed an opening in their minds, the Majin's magic would FLOOD in like a wave, causing the two to double over in pain! Veins would bulge across their bodies, their eyes would sink in to the point dark rings would circle their eyes, and their power would suddenly JUMP UP a whole level! ...By the time their transformation would be complete, a black "M" would be tattoo'ed across their foreheads... symbolizing their new covenant. If her attempt at Majin Mind Control was successful, Liari would smirk proudly and step forward, prepared to take on the Queen!
"Liek. Opherla. Kill her friends." The Majin commanded, referring to Gemini and Shiso. "...Come assist me when you're done." ...And then Liari would disappear. Suddenly her boot would come around SHOOT into Zaks' jaw from the side, Liari aiming to send Zaks SKIDDING across the icy landscape with a kick! She would then SHOOT after the Queen, bringing her sword up over her head... then DOWN in an overhead SLASH, aiming to cut the Queen in two! She would then open her mouth and fire a MASSIVE PINK BEAM from deep within her throat, threatening to engulf the Saiyan monarch in a ferocious explosion of energy, sending ice and snow BURSTING into the sky!
"Oh, I've been waiting for this..." Liari admitted, twirling her sword in her hand. "I've always wanted to see how far I could push myself with you. I'm going to have fun taking you apart."
